a photographic study of a working ballet studio

we approached ballet bellevue about participating in a photographic project in late 2006. the board of directors, the executive director and the artistic director were all very excited at the potential of this cross-disciplinary collaboration and quickly consented to participate.

simply, each photographer will spend time with the studio as it progresses thru its yearly series of classes, rehearsals, meetings, performances and parties. gloriously, each photographer will approach the task with their own methodology, tools and viewpoint and it is expected that this will provide a multifaceted view of our shared subject.

as the body of imagery grows, the photographers expect to mount an exhibit of the show. even more exciting, images from the project will be available for purchase to the public with the proceeds going to directly support ballet bellevue and its students.
